An algorithm is a step by step way of solving a problem. An algorithm is also a set of instructions, used to solve problems or perform tasks, based on the understanding of available alternatives.

Various ways we can represent algorithm.

Algorithm can be used in the areas such as Cooking, Washing, Bathing, withdrawing money from ATM Machine, etc. all of these activities involves calculated steps to complete them. These steps are what we are calling algorithms.
